Windows 10 Release 29th July 2015

Microsoft release Windows 10 worldwide on 20th July 2015.

Windows 10 will be available as a free upgrade for devices (including those currently owned) running Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1

Do you have to upgrade?
You don’t have to upgrade however there are many benefits to using the most up to date operating system – it really depends on what other software you use and whether this will be compatible with Windows 10
Will Microsoft automatically upgrade me to Windows 10?
If you have automatic updates turned on on your computer then the upgrade to Windows 10 may happen automatically. If you don’t then to be upgraded to Windows 10, you have to agree for that process to occur. Microsoft will be adding a prompt to all Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 machines so look out for that! The prompt will ask if you would like to update to Windows 10, it may look just like other updates so look out for it if you don’t want to upgrade! Your system will look different with the new Windows 10 operating system.
What's new in Windows 10?
Microsoft have described Windows 10 as ‘familiar and easy to use’ and Windows Insider said “This combines the strength of Windows 8 with Windows 7”.
